Specifications
Clear-Anodized Aluminum numbers & letters are water-jet cut from flat sheets of aluminum alloy 5052 in the various thicknesses mentioned in the table above. The faces of these pieces are either brushed or polished. The returns are bead-blasted. The brushed finish provides a raw, brushed-aluminum appearance. The polished clear-anodized pieces have a smooth (not reflective), cloudy/smoky appearance.
NOTE:
Our polished finish is only available for numbers or letters 2" or higher. Neither of these surfaces are clear-coated.
To anodize, the pieces are submerged in an anodizing solution and charged with an electric current. The result is surfaces that are completely hardened by the anodizing process.
NOTE: Clear-Anodized aluminum house numbers and letters are warranted for salt-water marine environments. If you desire the reflective appearance similar to Brushed Aluminum (which is not appropriate for such environments), consider our Cut Stainless Steel finishes.
